10 CHILD "FLAVOROLOGISTS" OF THE FUTURE WIN WORLD'S COOLEST FROZEN POP CONTEST
Kids Win Trip to California to Tour Nestlé Ice Cream's Top Secret Lab and Sample their Unique Winning Recipes!
Frozen pops are a favorite American dessert, but would you eat pizza-flavored or kettle corn-flavored pops? Some kids would! Earlier this year, Nestlé Ice Cream invited children throughout the U.S. to submit their idea for the world's coolest, most creative frozen pop. After reviewing over 8,000 submissions, 10 children were chosen as the winning "Frozen Pop Flavorologists."
The children received an all-expenses paid trip to Southern California, where they recently took a tour of the Nestlé ice cream factory in Bakersfield. The kids were able to taste a variety of wacky flavors currently in development, as well as sample their winning flavor creations. Each child also received a box of their one-of-a-kind frozen pop, a $1,000 US Savings Bond and a year's supply of Nestlé kids frozen snacks.

My second cooking show on how to make low carb comfort foods. Fauxtatoes are a great dish to have at Thanksgiving or for those who typically have to fight to get their veggies. A couple of my kids and my wife even make cameo appearances in this video. It's the least I can do for all the taste testing I make them endure as I try new recipes. My non-low-carbing family members even like this recipe as an alternative to starchy mashed potatoes.
Try this recipe; I think it'll be a hit with you as well!
Recipe:
1 Head Cauliflower
2.5 TBS Butter
1/3 cup Heavy Cream
1 Chicken Bouillon cube
1 tsp salt
White pepper to taste
Directions:
* Cook Cauliflower until fork tender. Drain well.
* Place cooked cauliflower and other ingredients (crush bouillon cube first) into the food processor. Run on high until consistency of mashed potatoes. You may need to scrape the sides of the bowl a couple times to prevent lumps.

In this cooking video, I detail how to make one of my staples of the diet -- low carb fried chicken. You don't have to give up the joy of fried chicken, and contrary to low fat diets, you can eat the skin too! I have fried chicken at least once a week almost. Chicken has a great amount of protein as well as delicious fat in the skin. I display 2 of the 3 methods that are among the acceptable coatings for chicken or chicken-fried foods (like Country Fried Steaks):
* Parmesan Cheese - Induction friendly
* Carbquik breading
* Crushed Pork Rinds. ** not shown Just run the pork rinds through a food processor to crush the rinds into smaller pieces. You would be surprised by how tasty this is, and how little pork rinds flavor there is remaining. I had intended to show this method as well, but Wal-mart wasn't selling them anymore.
Here is the recipe for the breading:
* 1 cup of Carbquik flour
* 2 TBS Paprika
* 1 TBS Black Pepper
* Dashes of Cayenne Pepper, Chili Pepper, Garlic Powder, Onion Powder, Poultry Seasoning
Thanks for watching my videos and subscribing for those that have. You guys are the best to keep me motivated.

Just in time for summer cook-outs Authors@Google NY welcomed Fred Thompson, author of Barbecue Nation: 350 Hot-Off-the-Grill, Tried-and-True Recipes from America's Backyard . Thompson has searched across the U.S. for America's best backyard cooks and their favorite recipes--not chefs' fancy interpretations of barbecue classics or pitmasters' ways with barbecue that the reader can't reproduce at home, but 350 recipes that are easy to recreate in anybody's backyard
Barbecue Nation is a culinary mosaic of what 14 million Americans like to do most when it comes to cooking--make dinner at the grill. Fred reflects on America's ever-changing populations, with recipes with the flavors of Cuba from South Florida, or Brooklyn-born Jamaican jerk, or the taste of Vietnam from the coast of Texas, as well as the country's regional bounties, including grilled salmon recipes from the Pacific Northwest, brats from the Midwest, and Delta Grilled Catfish.
Fred Thompson is a food writer, food stylist, and culinary developer. The author of three cookbooks, he is a columnist for the News & Observer in Raleigh, North Carolina and teaches regularly at the Institute for Culinary Education in New

Everybody's looking for ways to save time now that the holiday season is here. One timesaving tip is as close as your grocery store, along with lifestyle expert B Smith's entertaining shortcuts.
If there's one thing we all do over the holidays, it's entertain. But the big question always arises, how do you find time for fun festivities during what's probably the busiest time of the year?
Some of B Smith's entertaining shortcuts, are as simple as baking a pie with a pre made crust that tastes just like grandma's, and then dusting the slices on the plates with a bit of cinnamon.
B says another dinner party timesaver is to use frozen dinner rolls that store well in the freezer, but can be served to your guests using a variety of different ingredients to make them stand out.
Like this tip B uses when she entertains: Put about a dozen cranberries in a clear votive candle holders. Fill them with tap water and top with clear floating votive candles. Light them just before your guests arrive.

Ok, so me and Lauren decided to make sausage rolls in my house today.
There's no description.. HAHA! I smash a jug, get flour all ovre my clothes/face, and I offically cannot roll out pastry!
Haha!
I think I explain enough in the video, although, you buy puff pastry (Not frozen, better end result) and you can buy a packet of sausage meat, or skin 6 sausages.
You roll out your pastry into a large rectangle, then score and cut it in half.
Put the 2 halves to one side for now, while you prepare your meat.
Put PLENTY of flour down, and have a lot on your hands, sprinkle some ontop too. (If it sticks, it REALLY isn't nice!) DO NOT make it into a patty shape (Like I did.. Whoops) Roll it with 2 hands with even pressure straight away.
Put your meat to the side and take back your pastry, lay it out and put your meat directly in the middle. Cut all the rough edges of the pastry rectangle so it looks better.
Put water on the flaps, and sausage meat, and foll one end, then the other, and cut the 2 ends off.
This isn't a recipe from a book, so from what I know, a top shelf on a fan assisted oven (Top heat, about 250 degrees) for about 10 minutes (Check very regularly)

Please visit www.HealthyHelpingsTV.com for this complete recipe!
Chocolate brownies and cakes are the kind of thing anyone on a health kick passes up, but not anymore thanks to the humble beet. Today, Healthy Helpings TV's host Michelle Koen shows how to make a scrumptious and decadent-tasting chocolate brownie that is far healthier (and tastier) than a box mix!
These brownies have 25% less calories, 15% less fat and 30% of the sugar (!) found in a regular brownie and thanks to the beet and whole wheat flour, almost 3 times the amount of fiber! That's all very well, but how do the taste? These babies are soft and delicate to the mouth and have seriously rich, earthy, dark chocolate taste. Move over red velvet cake, there's a new tempting dessert flavor in town!

Nina Simonds visits the kitchens of America's Test Kitchen (americastestkitchen.com) on the day they were trying THIRTEEN recipes for the 'Best Brownie Recipe Ever'!!
"Unfortunately, I had to leave before the tasting. But who doesn't love a good brownie or two with a glass tall glass of cold milk? YUM!MIE!!! I love chocolate, BUT I am not as much a devotee as my Dad, brother, and my husband who MUST have a bite of chocolate EVERY day. My Dad and brother are BIG Hershey's fans, but my husband, Don, has cultivated a love for DEEP, DARK chocolate.
However, when it comes to brownies, that is another matter. I confess that I am a die-hard brownie lover-... Either the plain chocolate variety, no nuts please, AS WELL AS cream cheese, OR chocolate chip/butterscotch brownie variations. Don't ask me why, but Don and my son Jesse, prefer chocolate chip cookies. We ALWAYS have some frozen ones on hand in my freezer-courtesy of my talented assistant, Ingrid, who is a KILLER baker!"
America's test Kitchen and Cooks Illustrated fans will have to wait until January to see their version of the Best Dark Chocolate Brownie Recipe Ever, but in the meantime, go to www.spicesoflife.com for

October 2006 (Medialink) -- Over 25 million Americans are of Italian descent in the U.S. and this month showcases the U.S.'s number one ethnic food, Italian! October is National Italian Heritage Month and people everywhere are celebrating. Food is one of the biggest contributions that Italians made to America. Italian dishes became popular in the States after World War II, as pizzerias sprang up outside of Italian-American neighborhoods. First came pizza, then spaghetti & meatballs, lasagna and ravioli!
The American palate has matured over the years to embrace more regional Italian dishes, like polenta and stuffed eggplant - along with Italian influenced fish and chicken.
When cooking Italian food, experts suggest cooking well and saving time. Timesaving tips can include using seasoned breadcrumbs instead of going to the trouble of making them yourself; and preparing marinara sauce ahead of time and freezing it in small portions for later use. For recipes and tips beyond the trusty pizza, log onto
